JT "The Brick" Show w/ Tom Looney

 1. Why did you get into radio?
JT: Because I felt that I had more passion and energy than the hosts that I was listening to at the time.
T: I know it sounds cliché, but I won my transistor radio from a local radio station, and I listened to it under my covers in bed, and at school since I was 7 years old. I've always wanted to work in radio. This is goal visualization for me. I am exactly where I pictured myself.

2. What is your favorite part of your job?
JT: Interacting with sports fans from all over the country who not only have a passion for their teams, but also sports radio.
T: Turning up my headphones really loud, and listening to myself.  Also, the people I work with.  I love people as much or more as I do radio.

 3. Who is your favorite athlete of all time?
JT: Babe Ruth
T: Muhammad Ali

 4. Which teams did you root for growing up?
JT: Yankees, Knicks and Giants
T: My family was a Notre Dame family.  But when I grew up, USC was always kicking Notre Dame's butt -- so I jumped on the USC bandwagon as a child.
Professionally, I loved the Buffalo Bills, since I grew up in upstate New York.

5. What is the biggest sports rivalry in the country and why?
JT: Yankees vs. Red Sox. The fans care more about the outcome of the games than the players.
T: Well, I'll have to put emotion aside and go with logic here. I would guess, based on the size of the universities and the number of people they graduate every year, it would be Ohio State-Michigan.  No other rivalry involves schools with such a huge number of students.

6. What is the greatest athletic event that you have ever seen?
JT: Super Bowl XXV NY Giants beat the Buffalo Bills
T: Lakers/Blazers, game 7, NBA Western Conference Championship, 2000.   Lakers come back from 15 down to beat the blazers and go on to win the NBA title against the Pacers.

7. What is a sport that you never thought you would like, but now have grown to enjoy?
JT: NASCAR. I love the experience of going to Daytona 500
T: Baseball was always too boring for my Type-A personality. I have a short attention span.  ADD ... whatever you want to call it, I am too impatient for baseball. But, since I am forced to cover it -- it is growing on me.

8. Favorite actor and actress of all time?
JT: Robert DiNiro
T: I go to too many movies to narrow it down to one of each.

9. Five Favorite Movies of all time?
JT: Platoon, Raging Bull, Batman Begins, Goodfellas, Godfather 1 & 2
T: Bugsy, Boxing in Helena, Fargo, Fire in the Sky, This Boys Life.

10. If you were not working in radio, what would you be doing?
JT: Looking for a job in radio
T: Working with a microphone in some other capacity.

11. Who has been the biggest influence in your career?
JT: My Father
T: My family always encouraged me with my risky adventures in life.  So I'll have to settle on them, since there are so many people who would be left out if I were to narrow it down to one person to name.
